Republicans claim the president’s $716 billion “cuts” to Medicare hurt the program’s finances. But the opposite is true. These cuts in the future growth of spending prolong the life of the Medicare trust fund, stretching the program’s finances out longer than they would last otherwise.

>>ACA cuts $716 billion out of the Medicare budget,

Another rightwing LIE - debunked over and over during the 2012 election.
$716 billion in waste and fraud was cut from Medicare - including
$200 billion from Medicare Advantage, an insurance program concocted by Bush & Republicans that forced taxpayers to pay insurance premiums for the 20% of wealthy Seniors with Medicare Advantage.
The 716 billion in SAVINGS was plowed into Medicare benefits - providing Seniors with LOWER costs for prescriptions, more preventive services, etc.

Yes, the $716B in waste and fraud that was cut from Medicare went straight back into Medicare - providing preventive services and lower medication costs for Seniors.

Why do Republicans HATE Seniors?!?
