Institutional LandlordsPrivate-equity firms, hedge funds, real estate investment trusts and other institutional landlords have spent more than $20 billion to buy as many as 200,000 rental homes in the last two years.

Wow only $20B? These funds could buy up all the decent lower priced stuff in a NY minute. Check homepath you'll find four states have the bulk of Fannie REO's below $50k..MI,OH,IL and FL all around 1k. If you do the math say $50k times 1k homes that is only $200M..chump change for Jamie, Lloyd and friends.. I keep saying this cycle needs to play out to completion as bubble 2.0 starts spreading across the land...Not sure if it ends as early as 2016 or as late as 2024 so many factors to consider. I certainly wouldn't be buying in real high cost areas like a Hawaii or coastal CA is lose lose longer term any way you slice it..
