I actually have a good idea why they never showed an inkling of interest. In my audition videos I always portrayed myself as the extroverted wholesome responsible middle aged easy going likable dedicated father. The only thing that is really accurate there is that I am a middle aged dedicated father. The fact is, they don't want people who are going to live in harmony. They want drama. They want conflict. the way that I am able to live a peaceful life is that I am an extreme introvert who truly enjoys his own company. And it turns out that my son is the same way, so we don't bug each other much. And my poor extroverted wife who is the life of any party, has learned to live with our peculiarities. My next audition tape will be a little bit more honest about who I am. My biggest challenge would be living in close proximity to other people who don't respect my personal space and who demand attention. However, I do know how to fake "extrovert" and "nice guy". But it would be tough for more than a couple of days.
