>> I think Carson is a calculated sell-out with political ambitions, ready to play Republicans eager to look like they actually welcome minorities.

Republicans, unlike Democrats, have always been willing to to welcome minorities who aren't looking for handouts. Like Thomas, like Condi Rice, like Carson and other great blacks.

Thomas is a "sell-out" only in the sense that he isn't a leftwinger.

Which party was the Party of the KKK and fought to keep blacks in slavery? Which party was that of Ted Kennedy, who called black and Hispanic judicial nominees "Neanderthals" while blocking their appointments? Which party rejected anti-lynching laws and efforts to create a permanent Civil Rights Commission? Which president called Dr. King "that n*ger preacher" for opposing the Vietnam War? Which party was that of Robert Byrd and Fritz Hollings, KKK members?

It would appear that your judgment on this matter is deeply flawed, undoubtedly as a result of your blind partisanship.
