I was surprised about Ophthalmology, but not all of them spend all their time doing surgeries, either. If they did, they'd definitely be up there.

I wonder whether Plastic Surgery is taking a little bit of a hit from increased competition; docs who are transitioning away from insurance based practices toward just avoiding the problem altogether with cosmetic procedures.

I have a number of customers who have transitioned away from insurance based practices toward doing work that insurance just doesn't pay for. I wonder sometimes whether it is a local trend or if it is happening everywhere. One of my docs who was previously FP set up a "cosmedic" office within her office, where they do various cosmetic procedures, meanwhile, the FP has been changed to "industrial" medicine, doing drug screens and handling accidents, etc., direct payments from businesses. A couple of internal medicine docs have just gone the route of cosmetic procedures only.

I'm guessing there is only so much of that work out there.
