I don't believe climate change is the root of the problem, over population is. If there were only a million people on Earth we would likely have no meaningful impact on the climate no matter what our life style. On the other hand, even if we eliminated climate change at our current population levels we will still wipe out millions of other species as we are with the large mammals in Africa today. IMHO
