I went to the bank yesterday and asked the teller to give me ten $10 bills for my one $100 bill. I was so excited to walk out with ten times as many bills in my pocket!

(That sums up how excited I am about share splits...I don't think there are many people want to buy Apple stock but can't meet the ~$550 minimum).

Are you trying to argue that MSFT, for example, would have risen 26,000% since its inception to the year 2000 if it hadn't kept splitting the stock? You think a lot of small investors would have been willing to pay thousands of $$$ for a single share? I sure don't, and there's no way you'll convince me otherwise.

While a share split doesn't technically change anything about valuation, it does drive investment. I believe MSFT's meteoric rise is just one of many, many examples of that through stock market history.
