Sapiens Launches Sapiens i.way

A Rule-Based Web Development and Deployment Tool That Enables Scaleable Enterprise-Wide Access to Applications in Distributed Environments

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sapiens International Corporation N.V. (Nasdaq: SPNSF - news) today announced Sapiens i.way(TM), a fast and effective route for organizations to extend their business opportunities to the World Wide Web.

Sapiens i.way is a rule-based Web development and deployment environment that integrates Web standards into new and existing enterprise applications. Sapiens i.way comes complete with text, image hyperlinks and all functional and design features that makes the Web a powerful platform for business applications.

Sapiens i.way enables businesses to extend legacy applications and data to the Web. Hence, organizations can take advantage of a new e-commerce market without having to embark on lengthy and costly new developments.

''We are pleased to offer our users a multi-tiered, rule-based solution that extends their mission-critical applications to the Web,'' said Shai Sole, Chief Technology Officer at Sapiens International. ''These applications can easily scale across multiple platforms and support the growth of electronic business.''

Product description

Sapiens i.way takes advantage of rule-based object technology and produces scaleable, integrated, cross platform solutions -- from PCs to mainframes. i.way extends the Client/Server world to include Internet, intranet and extranet users as clients -- all using the same application definition. It also allows users to extend legacy applications and data on the Web, and create new electronic business and intranet applications faster.

Sapiens i.way is a part of a multi-tiered architecture: Web client, Web server coupled with Sapiens i.way work-flow server, ObjectPool application server and Data server. Based on thin client implementation, no i.way software components need to be pre-installed on the client platform since the browser downloads Dynamic HTML pages and Java applets as they are needed.

The ObjectPool Knowledgebase serves as a central repository for the definitions of both Web and traditional Client / Server GUI screens, reusing common functionality for both environments. Sapiens i.way uses the repository to manage all client interaction including flow, presentation and local validation.

Sapiens i.way takes into account the primary concern for security, which is of the utmost importance to any enterprise in cyberspace. Sapiens ObjectPool and i.way security facilities enable the user to manage authentication and authorization of users as well as privacy and data integrity. It is possible to control how much of the application and data can be accessed and who can access it.

The Web server can reside on a Windows NT Server or a Windows NT workstation, with a common Web server software and Sapiens i.way Server installed on it and working in tandem. The i.way server manages multi-threading multi-user access, user state and host access via TCP/IP, LU2 or LU6.2.
