re:IBM, Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft, KLAC etc show demand is weak. I am total confused now. What is odd of global recession?
I think these companies are saying that demand in the Asian economies are slowing, but there is still some growth. However, demand in other parts of the world are still strong. Microsoft said, for example, that they wouldn't change their guidance despite the slowing Asian economies. Also, its just a few of these economies in Asia, e.g. Korea, Malaysia, that are weak while China is still healthy. Japan has been weak for the entire year and has already been discounted. I don't see the chances of global recession very high. US economy is very healthy, Europe is picking up faster than expected, etc. It may take 6 months, but I think Asia will start to recover (if they have a good recovery plan).
