P.T. Burnem, your arguments are specious at best. Here's what it says on the MOT iDEN web site: "Each base radio handles one 25 kHz, 800 MHz channel with up to six time slots." Now that's for 2 way. It's 3:1 for phone conversations whether you believe it or not. Either every analyst covering this stock doesn't know what he's talking about or you're 100% wrong.
As to the max number of calls per cell site, J.P. Morgan says that it's "about 3,600" per cell site which translates to 21+ million capacity. Since everyone won't be on the phone at the same time, NXTL's max number of customers will be higher. How much more I'll leave to the experts. When capacity becomes an issue on a particular cell site, they'll do what any business does: They'll add cell sites. Your reference to each cell site covering 7,000 square miles refers to the typical local area size, not the range of each cell site. BTW NXTL's competition will require 2-3 times as many cell sites to cover the same area, something you have neglected to mention. COST ADVANTAGE NEXTEL.
