Ryan,
On one hand, they encourage those who don't agree with their political agenda to sell.
I'm not a fan of environmentalism or global warming alarmism, but in this case I fully agree with Tim Cook. Apple can decide for itself how much to spend toward charitable, non business-related causes. If shareholders feel that is cutting too much into bottom-line profitability, they can sell AAPL and buy stock in companies that don't "waste" so much of their money on these things.
On the other hand, they're seeking to have a small number of irrational buyers purchase the stock.
Says who? The 7:1 stock split isn't meant to attract "irrational buyers." That's silly.
