Ted, there were a few spikes above $3/gallon before 2008.

In 2008, gas prices soared thanks to speculation, but then the recession hit, and $4/gallon was a fleeting memory.

Nowadays, $4/gallon is the new normal. (In your chart, it shows the current average hovering around $3.50, but what I see in the Bay Area is higher.)

I stand by my statement.


Clearly, you don't know how to read charts. The average in 2008 for the ENTIRE US was over $4. For CA, the prices were in the $5s and $6s per gallon. But go ahead and stand by your statement..............it only makes you look a horse's ass.........
