As i have told you many times, Canadian health care is funded through the tax system.
On top of that,, the province of Ontario has a health care surtax, geared to income.. the maximum being close to $1000.00 per year per individual tax payer.
It is also funded through donations, bequeath, gifting stock and a few more.
It is far from welfare when i and all fellow citizens are coughing up specifically for it,,, and i know your tired argument already,, it is paid by the government,, same as care for the poor bastard lying in the street.
You can see this anyway you choose,, does not matter to me.
As i pointed out to you,, insurance is not the only way to pay for "" rare and costly events"" the Canadian system will pay for these also,, and much more.
The Canadian system manages risk. That is a period.
It manages my risk and I like that.
It is quite reasonable compared to other systems ,, specifically yours.
You said..
<<Conflating them corrupts each, muddies thinking about them, and feeds the sorry state of political discourse about them.>>
Let the muddied thinking, and sorry state of political discourse begin.
Let's see,, Inode will say,,"you canuckle heads are forever running down here for treatment" Someone else,, "'you have waiting lines for everything.. 10 20 years"' your doc's are inferior, could not cure a hemriod,,If it wasn't for us.. yada yada.lol
Only a half tip of the hat for you,, republican....
