... an the latest: Illumina sues Ariosa alleging infringement of NIPT patents. Nicely timed in view of the IPO plans of Ariosa. Of note, the most recent patent dispute of Illumina versus SQNM ended with a total victory for SQNM. I really hope that someone (preferably SQNM) manages to kick Ariosa out of the game. In contrast to Illumina and SQNM it´s just an opportunistic play holding in essence no relevant IP whatsoever. I wonder why the legal system in the US effectively doesn´t seem to protect IP anymore? In particular the diagnostics sector has become a complete mess.
