You are right about the tape--it does need to be authenticated. You are also right about the passions that motivate people in spurned relationships--especially ones involving lots of money.

As someone who has handled a few divorce cases I would say people need to be granted a "time out" for being judged by their actions during divorce and maybe for 100 days there after. It's why Bar Associations across the country had to put into effect rules prohibiting attorneys from sleeping with their clients because of all the affairs taking place between divorcing clients and attorneys. People are just not their normal selves during this process--Gwyenth Paltrow's take on it not withstanding.

And now to make matters worse the President has weighed in on it. Jesus bleeping bleeping. That's the last thing the WH needs to take part in right now. The President in the middle of millionaire scandal before all the facts are known. The folowing is from the NBA web site:

President Barack Obama on Sunday described comments reportedly made by the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers "incredibly offensive racist statements," before casting them as part of a continuing legacy of slavery and segregation that Americans must vigilantly fight.

"When ignorant folks want to advertise their ignorance, you don't really have to do anything, you just let them talk," Obama said when asked to respond to Sterling's reported comments.

Obama's description of the controversy as part of a larger historical context is the latest example of his continuing willingness to expound on matters of race in his second term.

After avoiding much mention of race relations during his campaign to become the first black president and in his first term, the president last summer offered a personal reflection in response to the shooting of black teenager Trayvon Martin. And now Obama has spoken out against an audio recording of a man identified as Clippers owner Donald Sterling telling his girlfriend not to bring black people to games.
