L.D. The Sun article on B2 differs little.

But the article is longer. I'd scan it if I could. It includes some
discussion about whether the land is good farmland and they mention some trading by McD. St.L. in 1995.

As I see it, this interview with Kim Hart was probably a consequence of the three previous press releases. The announcement that a US company is prepared to inject $35 million (Cndn) into Sungold if Richmond Downs gets the nod has woken up both the local and national press. The Canadian press recognizes that Richmond Downs could make a major contribution to B.C., and the public wants to know about it. None of the newspaper stories have mentioned the JV with Excelsior and Premier Gaming, but the fact that Sungold can JV with top gaming management with serious financial backing means the company should be taken seriously.

As an aside, the economy in B.C. is having some problems. GDP estimates have fallen from about 3% when Clark was elected, to less than 2% now - meaning lower tax revenues. The Asian contagion will slow the B.C. economy further, because many of B.C.'s resource exports go to Asian industry. Richmond Downs will assist Clark with his budget and employment problems.
