Caffeine harms some people, aspirin harms some people, water harms some people, alcohol harms many people.

Why the pushback when someone says something critical about it?

1 - Probably largely because of the (often accurate) belief that its an attempt to justify bans or heavy controls.

2 - A lot of the critical statements made about it are rather dubious.
