It is a favorite strategy of those defending the indefensible to want to go hide in the weeds rather than deal with the realities staring them in the face

I am reminded here of the discussion I had with my libertarian friend, after Sandy Hook, who was far more offended by the references to Lanza's AR as an "automatic weapon" than the plight of the children blown apart by whatever the hell he was shooting

It is a convenient dodge by those who simply don't want to deal with the obvious revulsion of a situation to latch onto a peripheral technicality and hold that out as a necessary condition to be resolved before the underlying evil can be addressed

This is especially true when there are political undertones

I will assume based on your continuing championing of this womanizing old rich goat that you haven't bothered to try and disabuse yourself of the notion that this is his only transgression into possibly practicing overt racism

Conveniently neglecting the fact that he has been judicially sanctioned, in record amounts, for past discriminatory behaviours

It is because of who he has already proven himself to be, that he is going to by drummed out of the league

Probably before you are satisfied with the authenticity of the subject phone call

The controversy simply made folks aware of what an ogre this guy is

...but you hang in there and get your proof

I really don't care if the recording/automatic weapon is accurate or not

Poor Lanza, Thomas, Sterling

If only folks would insist on correct information before we do anything, all this grief could be avoided
