I'm going to take a wild guess and say you didn't own BDC's in 2008.

MCC wasn't around back then, so it doesn't have much of a track record yet. PSEC was, and although they held out as long as they could, they cut their distribution in 2010 -- and did it in a slimy way (IMHO), by cutting the 41-cent quarterly to a 10-cent monthly, and leaving the space between the last quarterly and the first monthly (a full quarter) unpaid. Perhaps Mr. Market has taken that under advisement, as they say.
