Success is not being punished. Using success unfairly to take control of other areas is being (to a very limited degree) punished.

I just don't understand this line of argument I keep hearing from people. "Everyone is evil, so just because Microsoft is successful at it we shouldn't punish them" or something weird like that. I frankly don't care what Jobs or Ellison or Andreeson or McNealy think or dream about. I care what they do or don't do in the marketplace. And they are not leveraging monopolies to destroy smaller, weaker, competitors like Microsoft has been doing.

Undercutting competition, targeting their customers to hurt their bottom line to drive them out of business is "The American Dream"??
