Y2K-LEGAL 'I might see ya in court' - aftermath of failed takeover,

From 'De automatiseringgids' (Dutch IT weekly):

Ton Risseeuw, CEO of Getronics, recently tried to take over roccade; another IT company in the Netherlands.

According to Risseeuw, the takeover failed because the parties could not agree on possible damage claims following possible Y2K failures in government IT systems maintained by Roccade.

Dutch MP H. Kamp thinks the Dutch home office (involved in the take over negotiations) should see if a damage claim should be started.
...

Risseeuw reacted: that's is fine to me; in court I do not have to obey agreed decrees to be silent.'

JM: it still is not clear to me if this was just takeover bluff and tactics; or if there is a real problem with Y2K regarding Y2K damage claims.
