RW, is it shocking to you that if you take money from future generations and buy crap for current generations, current generations will gladly take it?
Seriously, listen to me. What shocks me, what I'm truly bitter about, is that the current generation won't pay the taxes to keep this country a first rate place to live and work. Previous generation sacrificed with hugely higher tax rates, on both the rich and middle class, to build a great country. That infrastructure is crumbling because the current generation is too selfish to pony up, as all previous generations did. Yes we're screwing the next generation, because they're going to have to pay for what the Republicans were too selfish to maintain, much less build on. We have wars, and lower taxes, first time that's ever happened in this country. Scandalous.
S&P profits are are record levels, have been for years. Stock portfolios are glowing. Hedge fund managers make $Billions each and are taxed at artificially low rates, below regular wage workers. We're a rich country, plenty to "provide for the social welfare" AND build the infrastructure that will provide jobs now, and allow future generations to have a functioning country.
It's Asia's century, because they're investing in the future. The US? We're to cheap, we're living on the taxes paid by former generations.
It's the selfish hate government folks that are raping this country, and that's the sin. And that's the truth. |
