OK, guys. Per my earlier post...

Message 29522595

I've heard from you. Now, here's my perspective:

Looking at the pros & cons of each major energy source, along with a rather cold blooded appraisal of the political alignments, and how those play out in the MSM - over time - to shape the prevailing public mood?

Decided some years ago, that natural gas, not nuclear, solar, wind, or even oil, would be THE mega long LONG term play, for the rest of my life. Probably for most of my 29 yr old son's, as well. Maybe I'm wrong. But the bears who, for years, have been saying shale gas was a giant pump n' dump/flash in the pan/B.S. gimmick, have been wrong and wrong big time. I think they'll continue to be wrong.

Question was how to position myself? When we bot this place in NW WV, in 2008 I was totally amazed at the opportunities to invest locally. Realized fairly quickly I could make orders of magnitude higher returns investing directly in NG mineral acreage, in this region, than in stocks, including the 1000%, 7 yr., run in my ROTH IRA, late in my trading career.

There's no question, in my mind, the gains will be even bigger than that in these direct property investments vs NG stocks which I see as higher cost derivatives. That, of course, is another discussion for another time...))

All FWIW,

Cya tomorrow. Time for the ole duffer to hit the hay.
