(MQL-V) Storm director Gregory Turnbull recently joined the board of Richard Thompson's Marquee Energy Ltd. (MQL-V). It added a cent to $1.09 on 4.54 million shares today, after adding 10 cents on 4.16 million shares on Friday. That day, it closed a $20.1-million bought deal of 22 million shares at 91 cents. Marquee had originally intended to raise just $15-million. It will use the proceeds to pay down a bank loan, then redraw money to finance its 2014 capital program. This program is expected to cost $46-million and will focus on Marquee's two core areas, Michichi and Lloydminster. Michichi is getting the bulk of the attention. Twice in the last six months, the company has expanded its Michichi position, buying assets first from Sonde Resources Corp. (SOQ-V) and then from Paramount Resources Ltd. (POU-T). Marquee has drilled three out of 12 planned wells at Michichi and two out of six planned wells at Lloydminster so far this year. It expects to end the year producing 5,600 to 5,700 barrels of oil equivalent a day. This compares with 100 barrels a day at inception in mid-2011.
