| | | But as I pointed out yesterday, tax rates are not even remotely suggestive of the overall extent of the tax burden currently borne by working individuals in this country. And THAT, not maximum tax rates, is the relevant metric.
Listen, trying to be gentle with you, but you've been bragging on how you think local taxes are ok. Now suddenly you change the game. It's all about local taxes, the guys you can "pick up the phone and talk to so you don't mind".
It's a point inode. Previous generations paid much higher taxes, and built up the country. Look at the sewer systems, the rapid transit, the roads, the airports in cities, the railroads and interstates, the space program. Huge investments, paid by tax payers, rich and poor.
Now, next to nothing. And you guys want to cut it back further. You don't want to build or maintain, because it might raise your tax rate a couple of points. Previous generations wanted to invest in the country, you guys want to rape it. It's all about YOU, what you can get, not contribute. Suck it for all it's worth in your lifetime.
My good old USA. Love this country. You guys hate it. Makes me sick.
You guys are not the Republicans I grew up with. They loved their communities and the country, would do anything to make them better for their kids. |
