K6 is fine, Cyrix is very cheap and almost on par to AMD: 6X86MX-200 for less than $200 You can overclock it to 233Mhz if Your mainboard lets You access higher busspeeds of 75 or 83Mhz. But beware. That's an option for a techie only. But in Q2/98 AMD will release its K6+3D chip. Then there's a reason to go for AMD. Also IDTI will have shipped their C7 product. Good times ahead..
