What scares me more than any of the economic turmoil is that S. Korea is now very vulnerable to manipulation of various forms. I think that many countries will have a hard time coming to the rescue of S. Korea because of political conflicts of interest with N. Korea. This has the potential of getting very ugly. An economy about to collapse, a government that has little if no power to stop it, and a hostile neighbor to the north that has the millitary hardware to wreak havoc.

Bailing out S. Korea is going to be a very delicate issue. Rember that it was not long ago that the U.S. was up in arms about military manuevers and nuclear arms testing by the N. Koreans. There has been a very turbulent history in that area world, conflicts between capitalism, freedom and communism exist and they are a very volitile issue. Throw into the picture the economic picture of S. Korea and there is potential for a massive revolt.

Wayde.
