Exactly. Pixel count is not a synonym for picture quality and is a meaningless number to cite in that context.

When a manufacturer or a message board poster cites pixel count as being more important than optics, software for image stabilization, focus, exposure, white balance, and even pixel size, you know you're hearing from someone who is neither well-informed nor well-intentioned.
