Yes, but corporations, as an entity, pay taxes and face the consequences of regulations. So, a corporation is by legislation. It can't vote, constitutionally, but there is no reason it shouldn't be able to promote its self interests. We make them pay taxes, for example.
I have a difficult time with the Left, generally, and its continuous push to shut down free speech. It is among our most important liberties. Anyone should be able to say just about anything. You obviously don't believe that government should be int the business of, for example, shutting down Internet porn (and neither do I).
Government should not be telling anyone who can say what as it is slippery slope to eliminating the democratic process. Which, of course, is what today's pseudo-liberals want. |
