Because when global warming got out of hand during the Permian age it wiped out 95% of all life on earth.

And scientists have proved to be tooo conservative in their warnings i.e. global warming is happening faster, much faster than they predicted just a few years ago.

Feedback loops are too complicated for even the best computers and models.
