Francis,
Thank you for your comments. I could be the greatest fool in history, but probably there are some others who are greater than I am. The first thing that I look for in a stock of this type is "potential", then I look at management, then the stage of accomplisment of achieveing "potential". When I say "potential", I mean potential profit. I like to buy when stocks that I like for their potential, etc are very out of favor. That is a hard thing to do, particularly when you own some and you see your value decline. There is a natural tendency to buy at the top and sell at the bottom. It goes back to the old saying "buy low, sell high". I have not always done that, but I try. I never place market orders. I may place an order at the ask, but never a market order. I have been clipped many times by market orders. I never chase a stock. I will let it go and wait. If it comes back to my buying range and everything looks ok, I will buy it.
With reference to this particular sock, I think that nothing has changed but time frame. I have been through so many refiners and disappointments that it makes me nauseous, but I think they will get there and that they have overcome some technical problems on their end. The big decline was on relatively small volume. As you have said, thin markets make big moves possible.
I will look into the Primate program and I thank you for your pointing it out to me. The beauty of the internet is that we can talk with people who have more experience than we and learn something if we can screen out the extraneous.
Thanks to Gene for his post, too. I will check on that!
I am a buyer here, but that is for me and everyone must make his own decisions. I will tell you what I do and history will tell us all the truth!!
