EOG's quarterly report profiled the Niobrara/DJ Basin as an area meeting its high & stringent requirements for capital allocation. This bodes very well, as Whiting and EOG, really do Get it.

These companies know particulate oil for what it is. Advances in completions will enable far more productivity per dollar spent in DJ Basin AO. The wildcat community follows the leaders and this move speaks of an orgy of activity to follow.

At his point of the game, Both companies are targets. Ask Statoil how they think of the experience and learning they achieved by buying that other Bakken pioneer who got the story right and early.
