The initial exchange.. yes.. But the following massive nuclear fallout and nuclear winter is another thing.. Most military targets are fairly near population centers.. (politics demanded it)..

But most of the people in the Southern Hemisphere would likely survive on a longer term basis, as there is little mixing of the atmosphere between North and South Hemis..

But I still wonder as to the saying.. "The living will envy the dead"..
