The newly-built jack-up rig has just arrived at the Baragatan-1 exploration well
location offshore Philippines, in which Dragon Oil holds 40% interest. We expect
drilling to commence shortly and initial results to be released in the first half of
June. As we discussed in our recent note, given the increased importance of
exploration activities for Dragon Oil's investment case, a positive outcome could
serve as a catalyst for the stock. Buy rating reiterated.

EnCana Doubles Oil Production With Eagle Ford Acquisition

Last week, Encana announced the acquisition of an asset package in the Eagle
Ford shale from Freeport-McMoRan for $3.1bn. The assets include 45.5k net
acres primarily in Karnes County with 355 gross producing locations (ECA 73%
WI) and, per Encana, over 400 gross future locations. Current production is 53
MBOE/d (75% oil, 11% NGLs), although management noted that production is
expected to decline this year given that FCX had sharply reduced drilling activity
from 8 to 3 rigs. Encana plans to ramp back to 4 rigs by year end, but 4 rigs
would drill up the entire 400 location inventory in less than four years.
