For Wi-Lan to negotiate from a position of strength it has to be willing to WALK AWAY from any buyout / merger option AND demonstrate that it is prepared to keep building the business. That's the only way it'll get top dollar on a buyout / merger - Dividend increase could have been much larger - BUT this is maybe telling any potential buyers that they haven't given up the store yet.
