hello, Mohan, Pat, DELL just announced a order from wal-mart with 4000 server & 2000 desktop on Dec 9. I believe HWP,IBM,CPQ all are using reserve funds to match DELL's competetive pricing on certain accounts. they have to try to protect their market share "at all cost" as referred in the article. I believe with these heated competitioin, the big 4 will grab more market share from the second tier vendors. DELL is responding with more price cuts(pass on component cost saving & assembly efficiency saving more quickly) & further improvement in the internet model. while HWP is coming on strong, IBM is still growing slowly.
