Kindle doesn't and never did have substantial share, nor is it an OS that really has broad business applications. Therefore it't not surprising that it's not widely adopted. Android, Chrome, and other platforms, however, have many business applications. For example, I've assisted a few companies/schools in deploying Chromebooks to save vast sums of money and achieve more efficient input versus deploying Apple or other higher-priced products.
It is put out there as an advertising platform from Google, for Google. As such, most of corporate culture will not take it seriously. Let's use an iPad mini and a Nexus 7 for comparison. How would the Nexus 7 be more of an advertising platform than the iPad mini? Both allow purchasing of apps, show ads when the user surfs, etc. |
