Well, Robert decided to take me for a quick trip to see my mom between Tuesday morning's pre K graduation and Friday morning's K graduation for Claire and Caroline. A QUICK trip. Down Tue night back Thur night. Port St. Joe, FL (below Panama City).

Was an excellent trip; our first to see them since them moved down in January.

We had a sweet visit and a good time. Left yesterday morning at peace that mom was doing good and that she was in a great home; happy and good. (She'd not been sounding so good; so R decided we needed to go check for ourselves what was going on with her health.)

Got a call from my brother this morning letting me know that mom had a stroke about lunch yesterday. Had my stepdad called, we could have turned around and met him at the hospital...it was that close. I guess he was panicking and didn't think about it. Only called my brother this morning.

Stroke #3 that I'm aware of. He walked in and she was stonefaced...then just fell off the bed, unresponsive. Thank God he called 911. In the past, he's not. (I won't go into the reasons; but it's an agreement between them to "not").

She's being tested. Couldn't communicate at all yesterday and nurse told my brother that she could say "yes" and "no". That doesn't surprise me. :)

Step dad wants no calls or visitors; says it will frustrate her...but I'm praying and listening for wisdom about respecting his wishes or doing what my heart tells me to do. (Not going vs going)
If God allows...I'll be going back down "till".

Any and all prayers for my mom (Tommie) and step dad (Keith) would be appreciated. They are both 83 and neither in the best of health. We actually left in peace about mom; but concerned about Keith. He's gone down a lot. Driving an hour plus at his age with some of his conditions isn't safe or recommended, imo.
Danged independent parents!!! <sigh>

Thanks for your prayers...I'm just yammering...keeping my brain occupied...having a little pity party amongst friends.
HUGS!
