Yeah, the most efficient way to get content to homes is by a dedicated pipe for the most viewed material. I don't get my TV via Comcast or ATT because DISH gives better HD signal with less compression. I've heard DISH is less compression that DirecTV also. Still, even with that dedicated source, pixelation is AWFUL for some shows that have huge productions with most of the screen moving at once... think a big Dancing with the Stars number with lights flashing, smoke and all the dancers doing a Las Vegas like number. Going to Super HD won't help that as we have plenty of pixels now but not enough bandwidth to deliver.... and we know that if everyone streams the same shows over the internet, it locks up...

I watched a lot (for me) of basketball this year as Steph Curry with Golden State made the team relevant again plus fun to watch. I didn't have much of an issue with pixelation getting the signal from DISH and watching on a slight to several hours delay with my DVR where I can FFD commercials, time outs, or big leads when in a hurry...

So... it is mostly content related... and with the trend for more "reality TV" to get live viewers tweeting, etc. to increase the number who watch the ads... I think we will see more production numbers like the "Macys Stars of Dance" advertising inside the reality shows just like the days "Mutual of Omaha" sponsored Wild Kingdom.... and those productions need more BW than we have now.
