You can also include Madagascar in the islands initially discovered and settled by the Polynesians. It is sad what is happening to Madagascar due to human exploitation. It would have made a great natural wildlife reserve if no people had settled there. Lots of unique wildlife there including lemurs which are a type of primate. en.wikipedia.org Initial human settlement of Madagascar occurred between 350 BC and AD 550 by Austronesian peoples arriving on outrigger canoes from Borneo. Madagascar is a biodiversity hotspot; over 90 percent of its wildlife is found nowhere else on Earth.
