Siri I will grant you, she has a better reputation than maybe she deserves. But I can't imagine anyone expecting the iPhone to beat out Android on Navigation. Google Maps is historically the strength of Android, and the bad publicity around Mapgate reached far and wide. If anything, I think most new users would be surprised at how well Apple Maps works these days compared to its reputation.
And combining the two is even more powerful. You can be driving (which your phone will notice), and without needing to touch your phone, wake it (it will recognize your voice) by saying "Ok Google", then ask it where a good nearby sushi restaurant is, ask about reviews, and then ask it to navigate. Then request it to play some music from your favorite artist, take calls and listen to incoming calls, all while it navigates with extremely accurate directions/satellite images/street view. All by voice. I still feel like I'm living in a sci-fi movie.

Apple's customer loyalty ratings are well deserved-- they don't give customers any reason to look elsewhere and the ecosystem locks you in just enough to make it not worth the trouble. Anecdotally, I have never heard any of my peers ditching an iPhone for ANY reason other than screen size.
No doubt. Apple deserves credit for this. So few iPhone lovers have actually used the newest Android phones because they're so happy with what they have. The risk for Apple is that when and if they do try one, they're blown away by what they were missing. The vast majority of knocks on Android are now outdated myths based upon past weaknesses when the OS was new and/or when users were buying poor quality hardware (which, as others have noted, often came with bloatware).
