all that positive word of mouth is doing Motorola very little good.
Apple is a brilliant marketing machine. Motorola isn't. In this case, they're not necessarily failing... they are early to the game and are just one of many popular Android manufacturers with the first model that did this. No matter how well-received it is, it's a blip on the radar. When Apple does something well, because they have a single brand that comprises all of their phone sales, it gains visibility much more quickly.

My guess is that we'll see more and more phones pick up always-listening capabilities, including Apple eventually. It's just too useful of a feature, and for those who don't want it, it can be easily disabled. It's just a nice option to have.
