Ryan,It's always free for you to try. Maybe if I have the time, or maybe if Apple does indeed fall by the wayside and Android then becomes the de facto standard. (Of course, if I had the time, I would also try the Windows Phone, a Windows 8 tablet, an Android tablet, etc.)
As of now, the apps I care about still appear on iOS first, Android second. This might change in the near future, but the fact that iOS still gets priority for app developers says a lot about the strength of the iOS user base vs. the sheer numbers of Android users.
