<<Class actions do nothing except enrich the lawyers. I have been in several of these and gotten pennies on the dollar....the lawyers get rich...the companies are even weaker....and your stock goes lower>>
FEES, BABY!!! CAN YOU SAY FEES!!!!!!!!
Shareholders can rot in HELL, so long as the lawyers get paid. If the system wasn't set up this way (FEES!!!!!) does anyone really think that lawfirms would be pileing on each other to sue the living day light out of OXHP?
Andreas, I respect your opinion, however, I have to strongly disagree with you. Your response towards Gene illustrated to me that your a person full of anger, if not rage!!! So much so, that that anger is getting in your way of thinking rationally. You sound like a smart person, which makes me wonder, why the hell did you get involved with this company? As to lawyers seeking justice, I find that very amusing!!!
When GM was sued for the side saddled gas tank on their trucks, a class action suit by the way. What did the plaintiffs get? If I recall correctly, they recieved a coupon for $100 off their next purchase of a new GM vehicle (not sure if they had to purchase a turck, not a regular car, in order for the coupon to be redeemed.) You call that justice?
Most companies settle out of court not becuase they are guilty, but, becuase it's more cost effective. Why drag a case through the court system for years, and pile up the fees, when you can settle out of court in days? And what do they really settle? You guessed it, the lawyers get their fees first and THEN they decide the judgement for the plaintiffs.
3com is facing a shareholders lawsuiit and so was Boing. Boeing's lawsuit was laughed at because the stock price rebounded so quickly and as a result, there was no basis for the lawsuit.
As to OXHP, they are in a crisis situation, and if you ask me, the lawyers are only making it worst.
