I don't really see how you can say that.

For as long as phone makers are allowed to tweak the OS and slap it onto their devices, there will be fragmentation. We've also got empirical evidence that the hardware is fragmented as well -- different makers, different specs, with some choosing to implement make-believe gyroscopes, for example -- even if they are all using the same version of the OS. That's just a fact of life when you give people such freedoms. But don't tell our friend. It would crack his rose-colored Android lenses. So when dealing with him, we'll just nod and agree that there is no such thing as fragmentation on planet Android. And all is well ;-) Simple.
