the fast food places will eliminate cashiers and go to screens where you place your order and enter your credit card. I love the machines at the grocery store or hardware stores. I can even put in the .18 change for a $15.18 charge, and not get stared at for 30 seconds like I'm from Jupiter. To be honest though, I will always use a live person in both places to keep their jobs on the "maybe needed" list, unless the lines are extremely long. If a manager sees no lines at a live employee, that employee will probably be gone.
