Yeah- let's just ignore the elephant in the room- too many guns, many of them stored in an unsafe manner. You can ignore that issue if you want to, I'm not going to. Sure, I want better care for the mentally ill as well, but I'm not ignoring the sheer stupidity of our gun laws, citizen gun storage, and the accessibility of guns to people who should not have them (and honestly, I'm mostly worried about children, when it comes to gun storage- but college students would be a close second- and this underlines the insanity of having college students armed. A lot of them just aren't all that stable- though suicide is by far the greater risk.)
