Were I to have commented on that article, the first comment below it says exactly what I would have said.

"It would be equally blind to not do something about the trillion dollar deficits and debt that we have run up and are foisting on our children. I wonder if Bill Moyers and his silly guest, Suzuki, will volunteer to go to the slammer for their intergenerational crimes."
