(1) During these years, gun deaths dropped dramatically in the US but we didn't do this. (2) It's been only 18 years since Australia passed that law. That's not enough to judge the success of the law because 18 years is not long enough for a society to change significantly. For example, it took about 50 years for welfare to destroy marriage among the poor in the US. Give it another 32 years and see what kind of murder rate Australia is dealing with. -- Carl
