You don't know much about the history of slavery. The Constitution had nothing about slavery in it but
Democrat legislators and Democratic activist judges on the SC were seeking to make slavery the law of the land throughout the US. That's what the long-term impact of the Fugitive Slave Act and the Dred Scott decision would have been.
